Confessional: My Morning Ritual and Latest Podcast

In my most recent confessional, I broke down 26 fun facts about me for my 26th birthday. One of those facts was my favorite morning ritual: meditating outside first thing in the morning while the world is still pretty quiet and I can hear the birds and waves from the ocean. I love meditating in the morning because I feel like it really helps start my day off on a positive note and helps keep me grounded and calm throughout the rest of the day, and I’ve really come to love and cherish my morning ritual. My morning ritual includes waking up and getting out of bed right away, doing some quick morning tasks and having a tiny bit of caffeine (less is more for me!), reading the daily passage from The Book of Awakening, meditating, and journaling afterwards. Meditation is such a sacred time, and meditating is something everyone can benefit from. Meditation gives us the chance to completely clear our minds of any outside forces, quiet stress and anxiety, and reach a deeper and higher state of consciousness. It can lead to more insight about ourselves and our life, stimulate and heighten creativity, and give us more clarity on stressful situations. My meditations are usually anywhere from 15-20 minutes. There are all different kinds of meditation out there, but the 3 I use most often include a normal one, a compassion meditation, or a guided meditation from Tara Brach.
