Beauty Pick of the Month: Morphe Continuous Setting Mist

Beauty Pick of the Month: Morphe Continuous Setting Mist

I am in no way affiliated with Morphe or any other products that may be mentioned below. All purchases were made with my own money, and all opinions are my own.

It’s officially December, and you know what that means—it’s time for a brand new beauty pick of the month, the very last one for 2020! I thought long and hard about what I wanted this month’s pick to be, and it dawned on me that I have yet to shine a spotlight spotlight on a product I’ve been using for practically the entire year: the Morphe Continuous Setting Mist! I’m obsessed with this product, it’s an absolute staple in my makeup routine no matter what look I’m going for. So, let’s get into it, shall we? Below I’m going to break down all the details, why I’m obsessed, how to use it, and also watch me use it at the end of my makeup routine.

Where to buy:

This setting mist is sold online and in stores at both Morphe and Ulta Beauty.

Why I’m loving it:

What I truly love about this setting mist is the way it sprays onto your face. True to its description, the spray is extremely fine and goes on controlled and evenly. It’s able to get all of my makeup on both my face and neck and really set it into place. Also, I love the fact that it doesn’t cause makeup to run, either (no runny mascara or eyeliner here, people!). It really holds everything in place.

I also love the fact that the formula doesn’t dry and can be used on sensitive skin. Rather than causing makeup to get hard and cakey after it’s applied, it delivers a beautiful finish that leaves skin looking smooth, and makeup looking flawless and even. For the amount of product you get, the price point is very fair and reasonable. $16 for a setting mist that actually holds makeup in place all day long without causing it to look cakey and dry? How-to:

[Directions from the Morphe website:] Hold the bottle 8-10 inches from face. Close eyes and apply mist all over face.

  • Spray your brush with Continuous Setting Mist before sweeping on the glow for a poppin’ highlighter
  • Dampen your beauty sponge with Continuous Setting Mist and use to press out dry or creased makeup

How i use it:

MY GO-TO:

Step 1: Once all of my makeup is done, I hold the bottle at almost an arm’s length away from my face.

Step 2: I close my eyes, and spray setting mist evenly across face and neck. (I usually go left-right in my application for some reason.)

Side note: occasionally, I use my free hand to cover my hair to avoid getting a lot of mist on it. It’s harmless if it happens to, though!

Step 3: Fan dry with hands or folding fan.

OTHER WAYS I USE IT:

  • When I’m in the mood for a really bright inner corner on my eyes or a blinding highlight, I’ll spray the setting mist directly onto the brush before dipping into the pigment and applying to desired area.
    • Allow brush to sit and soak up setting mist for about 30 seconds-1 minute before dipping into product. This will ensure the brush grips onto the product, rather than the setting mist getting into the product itself.
  • If my makeup looks cakey or is being really stubborn and not blending out easily, I’ll spray the setting mist onto a dry sponge, then use the sponge to blend out the product.
    • This is great for contour products. I’ve done this with both cream and powder.
    • I always use cream contour no matter what, and if it looks muddy after blending and blending, I’ll use this method to blend it out. I’ll also do this when layering powder contour on top of cream and setting powder if it starts to look muddy.
