These drinks just scream fall and work for an at-home date night or Halloween party. They’re a twist on your fall faves, with everything from pumpkin spice to candy corn and everything in-between. These drinks do not disappoint. Some are made with actual candy or flavors reminiscent of the treats you’d get trick or treating, while others look the part. But the best thing? You don’t have to be an expert mixologist to make these. They’re so simple, and can be made right from the comfort of your own home.

Halloween Cocktails:

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 3 oz vanilla vodka
  • 2 oz dairy/lactose-free pumpkin spice creamer (may substitute dairy)
  • 2 ½ oz black coffee (may substitute decaf if sensitive to caffeine)
  • 1 gluten-free, dairy-free/vegan graham cracker, crushed (for rim; may substitute regular graham cracker)
  • 1 tbs honey (for rim)
  • Chilled martini glass
  • Cocktail shaker + strainer
  • Ice
  • Cinnamon sugar mixture (to sprinkle in glass; substitute cinnamon and Splenda for healthier option)

CRUSHED GRAHAM CRACKER + HONEY RIM:

  1. Crush graham cracker by breaking it up into pieces on a cutting board, then go over those pieces with a rolling pin until every piece has been crushed into a fine mixture.
  2. Pour honey onto separate plate.
  3. Take chilled martini glass and dip rim into honey, then dip into crushed graham cracker.

HOW-TO:

  1. Fill cocktail shaker up with ice, then pour in vanilla vodka, pumpkin spice creamer, and coffee.
  2. Cover cocktail shaker and shake well—remember: cocktail shaker should be cold to the touch!
  3. Strain into martini glass.
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top and enjoy responsibly.

2. Candy Apple Cocktail



WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 2 oz salted caramel moonshine (may substitute salted caramel vodka or any other salted caramel liquor)
  • 1 oz apple liqueur
  • 1/2 oz cranberry juice
  • Sparkling apple cider
  • Coconut flakes (for rim)
  • Apple slice (to garnish)
  • Rocks glass (or size equivalent)
  • Ice
  • Cocktail shaker + strainer

HOW-TO:

  1. Pour coconut flakes onto a plate, then wet rim of rocks glass. Dip rim into coconut flakes and set aside.
  2. Fill cocktail shaker up with ice. Pour in salted caramel moonshine, apple liqueur, and cranberry juice. Cover and shake well.
  3. Pour into glass, then top with apple cider.
  4. Garnish with an apple slice on the rim.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 3/4 oz scotch
  • 3/4 oz cherry brandy
  • 3/4 oz sweet vermouth
  • 3/4 oz orange juice
  • 1 orange peel (to garnish)
  • Chilled martini glass
  • Cocktail shaker + strainer
  • Ice

HOW-TO:

  1. Fill cocktail shaker up with ice. Add in scotch, brandy, sweet vermouth, and orange juice. Cover and shake well—cocktail shaker should be cold to the touch!
  2. Strain into chilled martini glass.
  3. Garnish with an orange peel in glass.

4. Peach Candy Corn Martini



WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 1 oz whipped cream vodka
  • 1/2 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz sparkling peach juice
  • Grenadine
  • Whipped cream (to garnish)
  • Candy corn (to garnish)
  • Martini glass
  • Cocktail shaker + strainer
  • Ice

HOW-TO:

  1. Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in vodka and pineapple juice. Cover and shake well.
  2. Strain into martini glass
  3. Pour sparkling peach juice on top, then add in 1 drop of grenadine.
    1. Note: grenadine will sink to the bottom.
  4. Top with whipped cream, and drop in pieces of candy corn.

5. Vanilla Pumpkin Spice



WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 3 oz vanilla vodka
  • 1/2 oz dairy-free pumpkin spice creamer (may substitute dairy)
  • 1/4 oz Sambuca
  • Chilled martini glass
  • Cocktail shaker + strainer
  • Ice
  • Optional: dairy-free chocolate and peanut butter popsicle (to garnish; may substitute dairy)

HOW-TO:

  1. Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in vanilla vodka and pumpkin spice creamer. Cover and shake well—cocktail shaker should be cold to the touch and drink should come out frothy!
  2. Strain into martini glass.
  3. Drop Sambuca directly into glass.
  4. Optional: drop in popsicle.

6. Black Ginger Spice



WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 3 blackberries
  • 1 1/2 oz spiced rum
  • 1 oz sweet and sour mix
  • 1 splash ginger beer
  • Copper mug
  • Cocktail shaker + strainer
  • Muddler (may use fork or back of spoon)
  • Ice

HOW-TO:

  1. Place blackberries, rum, and sweet and sour mix in cocktail shaker. Muddle ingredients together.
  2. Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake well.
  3. Pour into copper mug, and top with splash of ginger beer.

7. Blood Orange Margarita



WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 2 oz tequila reposado
  • 1 oz blood orange juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice (made from squeezing juice out of limes into separate glass)
  • 3/4 oz jalapeño simple syrup (1 sliced jalapeño, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water)
  • 1 orange wheel (to garnish)
  • Margarita glass
  • Cocktail shaker + strainer
  • Ice
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Optional: salt (for rim)

JALAPEÑO SIMPLE SYRUP DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine sliced jalapeño, sugar, and water in saucepan and place on stove over medium-high-high heat. Stir a couple of times.
  2. Simmer until sugar has dissolved completely, then remove from burner and turn off. Allow to cool.
  3. Once cool, strain through fine mesh strainer into container or glass, cover, and store in fridge.

HOW-TO:

  1. Fill cocktail shaker up with ice. Add in tequila reposado, blood orange juice, fresh lime juice, and jalapeño simple syrup. Cover and shake well.
  2. Optional: pour some salt onto plate, wet rim of margarita glass then dip into salt if you want a salted rim.
  3. Pour contents of cocktail shaker into margarita glass.
  4. Garnish with orange wheel on rim

8. Sour Strips Slushy*

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • For the Slightly Sour Mix:
    • 2 strips Cotton Candy Sour Strips
    • 2 strips Blue Raspberry Sour Strips
    • 2 strips Pink Lemonade Sour Strips
    • 2 strips Strawberry Sour Strips
    • 6 oz vodka
    • 2 oz Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade
    • 2 oz Sprite Zero
    • 1/2 cup ice
    • 8 oz glass
    • Pink and white sprinkles (for rim)
    • Pink food coloring
    • Blender
    • Fine mesh strainer
    • Cocktail skewer/toothpick + extra Cotton Candy Sour Strips (to garnish)
  • For the Very Sour Mix:
    • 2 strips Wild Cherry Sour Strips
    • 2 strips Green Apple Sour Strips
    • 2 strips Pink Lemonade Sour Strips
    • 2 strips Watermelon Sour Strips
    • 6 oz vodka
    • 2 oz Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade
    • 3 oz Sprite Zero
    • 1/2 cup ice
    • 8 oz glass
    • Pink and white sprinkles (for rim)
    • Pink food coloring
    • Blender
    • Fine mesh strainer
    • Cocktail skewer/toothpick + extra Cotton Candy Sour Strips (to garnish)

PREP FOR INFUSED VODKA:

  1. Day/night before making this recipe, place Sour Strips into glass and pour in vodka.
  2. Cover, place in fridge, and soak overnight.

HOW-TO:

  1. Take glass with Sour Strips and vodka out of fridge and uncover. Strain contents through fine mesh strainer into separate glass. Set aside, and discard Sour Strips.
  2. Pour pink and white sprinkles onto plate and mix together.
  3. Wet rim of 8 oz glass using either water or a lemon/lime wedge and dip into sprinkles. Set aside.
  4. Roll up 2 new strips of Cotton Candy Sour Strips, and place cocktail skewer/toothpick through them. Set aside.
  5. Pour 5 oz of Sour Strips-infused vodka into blender.
    1. Note: you will have 1 oz leftover, which will be used in case you spill vodka and need to add more.
  6. Add lemonade and Sprite into blender, followed by ice.
  7. Add 1 big drop of food coloring.
  8. Cover blender, then blend all ingredients until smooth.
  9. Pour into glass with sprinkles on the rim.
  10. Place cocktail skewer with fresh Sour Strips on edge of glass and enjoy responsibly.

9. Vampire’s Kiss



WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 3/4 oz raspberry liqueur
  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • Champagne/prosecco (to top off)
  • Red sprinkles (for rim)
  • Orange peel (to garnish)
  • Martini glass
  • Cocktail shaker + strainer
  • Cocktail spoon (substitute regular spoon)
  • Ice

HOW-TO:

  1. Pour red sprinkles onto separate plate, wet rim of martini glass, and dip into sprinkles. Set aside.
  2. Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in vodka and 1/2 of raspberry liqueur. Cover and shake well. Strain into martini glass.
  3. Top with champagne/prosecco.
  4. Hover cocktail spoon above and over martini glass, then pour remainder of raspberry liqueur over spoon to float into drink.
  5. Garnish with orange peel in glass.

10. Smoky Spirit



WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 1 1/2 oz silver tequila
  • 3/4 oz white cranberry juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 4 blackberries
  • 1-2 jalapeño coins (1 for less spicy, 2 for more of a kick)
  • Dash black pepper
  • Rocks glass (or size equivalent)
  • Cocktail shaker + strainer
  • Muddler (substitute back of fork or spoon)
  • Ice

SIMPLE SYRUP DIRECTIONS:

  1. Take 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water, and pour into pot.
    1. Note: you may substitute Splenda for a healthier option. This is what I like to do.
  2. Bring to a boil on stovetop, stirring frequently.
  3. Once sugar has dissolved completely, remove pot from hot burner and turn the stove off. Let the mixture cool completely.
  4. Pour into container/glass, cover, and store in fridge to chill.

HOW-TO:

  1. Place blackberries, jalapeño coins, simple syrup, and tequila in shaker. Muddle together well.
  2. Add in white cranberry juice and a dash of black pepper, then fill the rest up with ice.
  3. Cover cocktail shaker and shake well.
  4. Pour into rocks glass.

11. Jolly Rancher Shot*



*This shot recipe has a couple of different variations. I’ve included them below. Although the ingredients may vary, the directions for making them are the same.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Green Jolly Rancher Shot:
    • 1 oz apple vodka
    • 1 oz melon liqueur
    • 1/2 oz sweet and sour mix
    • Shot glass
    • Cocktail shaker + strainer
    • Ice
  • Pink Jolly Rancher Shot:
    • 1 oz apple vodka
    • 1 oz watermelon pucker liqueur
    • 1/2 oz cranberry juice
    • Shot glass
    • Cocktail shaker + strainer
    • Ice

HOW-TO:

  1. Fill cocktail shaker up with ice and add in all ingredients.
  2. Cover and shake well.
  3. Strain into shot glass and serve immediately.

12. Zombie Brain Shots



WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 1 oz coconut rum
  • 1 oz Irish cream
  • Grenadine
  • Shot glass
  • Cocktail shaker + strainer
  • Ice
  • Cocktail spoon (substitute back of spoon)

HOW-TO:

  1. Fill cocktail shaker up with ice, then add in coconut rum and Irish cream. Cover and shake well—drink should come out frothy.
  2. Strain into shot glass.
  3. Hold cocktail spoon above glass, and slowly pour 1 drop of grenadine over it. Serve immediately.
