7 Delicious Thanksgiving Cocktails To Make This Year:
Arianna’s Hot and Dirty Martini
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 3 oz vodka
- 2 oz banana pepper juice (from jar of banana pepper rings)
- 1-2 banana pepper rings
- 2 oz olive juice (from jar of queen stuffed olives)
- 1-2 queen stuffed olive(s)
- chilled martini glass (stick in freezer before making)
- cocktail shaker + strainer
- ice
- 1 cocktail spear
HOW-TO:
- Place martini glass in freezer, then fill cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add vodka into shaker, then strain banana pepper juice from jar into shaker. Follow by doing the same with for the olive juice.
- Cover cocktail shaker and shake well—cocktail shaker should be cold to the touch!
- Remove martini glass from freezer, then strain in contents of cocktail shaker.
- Garnish with cocktail spear of olives and a banana pepper.
Appletini
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 2 oz vodka
- 1/2 oz sour apple liqueur
- fresh lemon juice (made from squeezing juice out of lemons into separate glass)
- 1 apple slice and/or dessert cherry (to garnish; optional)
- cocktail shaker + strainer
- chilled martini glass
- ice
HOW-TO:
- Place martini glass in freezer, then fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add in vodka, sour apple liqueur, and lemon juice.
- Cover cocktail shaker and shake well! Cocktail shaker should be cold to the touch. Remove martini glass from freezer, then strain in contents of shaker.
- Optional: Garnish with an apple slice on rim of glass and/or a cherry dropped into the martini glass.
Cranberry Mimosa
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- champagne or prosecco (personal preference)
- 1/2 oz cranberry juice
- champagne flute
- 1 fresh sprig rosemary (to garnish; optional)
- 2 tbs sugar (for rim; optional)
HOW-TO:
- If doing sugared rim: pour sugar onto plate. Wet rim of champagne glass with water, then dip into sugar.
- Pour cranberry juice into flute, then fill remainder of glass up with champagne/prosecco (stop just below the rim).
- Optional: garnish with a fresh sprig of rosemary in glass.
Hot Bourbon Apple Cider
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 1 oz bourbon
- 2 1/2 oz hot apple cider
- 2 tbs cinnamon sugar mixture (for rim; optional)
- 3 oz caramel sauce (for rim; optional)
- 1 cinnamon stick (to garnish; optional)
- 1 apple slice (to garnish; optional)
- large coffee mug
- cocktail spoon (substitute regular spoon)
HOW-TO:
- If doing cinnamon sugar rim: pour caramel sauce and cinnamon sugar onto separate plates. Dip rim of mug into caramel sauce, then dip into cinnamon sugar.
- Pour bourbon into mug, followed by apple cider. Stir with a cocktail spoon (substitute regular spoon).
- Optional: garnish with apple slice and cinnamon stick across top of glass.
White Cranberry Martini
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 1/2 oz white cranberry juice
- 1 oz simple syrup (directions below)
- 1 oz fresh lime juice (made from squeezing juice out of limes into separate glass)
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2-3 cranberries
- cocktail shaker + strainer
- chilled martini glass
- ice
SIMPLE SYRUP DIRECTIONS*:
*This should be chilled in fridge for at least an hour before it’s used in cocktail. It can also be made the night before and stored in fridge, covered, for 2-3 days.
- Pour 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water into a pot.
- Arianna’s note: substitute Splenda for as healthier option.
- Bring to a boil on stovetop, stirring frequently.
- Once sugar has dissolved completely, remove pot from hot burner and turn off stove. Let mixture cool completely.
- Note: if simple syrup seems thin and watery, add in a tiny bit more sugar; repeat if needed until mixture is thicker.
- Pour into glass, cover, and store in fridge for at least an hour.
HOW-TO:
- Fill cocktail shaker with ice, then add in vodka, simple syrup, lime juice, and white cranberry juice. Cover and shake well! Cocktail shaker should be cold to the touch.
- Pour sugar onto separate plate, wet rim of martini glass, then dip into sugar.
- Strain cocktail shaker into martini glass.
- Garnish with 2-3 cranberries in drink.
Pumpkin Spice Café
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 3 oz vanilla vodka
- 2 oz dairy/lactose-free pumpkin spice creamer (may substitute dairy)
- 2 ½ oz black coffee (may substitute decaf coffee, black, if sensitive to caffeine)
- 1 gluten-free, dairy-free/vegan graham cracker, crushed (for rim; may substitute regular graham cracker)
- 1 tbs honey (for rim)
- Chilled martini glass
- Cocktail shaker + strainer
- Ice
- Cinnamon sugar mixture (to sprinkle in glass; substitute cinnamon and Splenda for healthier option)
CRUSHED GRAHAM CRACKER + HONEY RIM:
- Crush graham cracker by breaking it up into pieces on a cutting board, then go over those pieces with a rolling pin until every piece has been crushed into a fine mixture.
- Pour honey onto separate plate.
- Take chilled martini glass and dip rim into honey, then dip into crushed graham cracker.
HOW-TO:
- Fill cocktail shaker up with ice, then pour in vanilla vodka, pumpkin spice creamer, and coffee.
- Cover cocktail shaker and shake well—remember: cocktail shaker should be cold to the touch!
- Strain into martini glass.

Blood Orange Margarita
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 2 oz tequila reposado
- 1 oz blood orange juice
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice (made from squeezing juice out of limes into separate glass)
- 3/4 oz jalapeño simple syrup (1 sliced jalapeño, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water)
- 1 orange wheel (to garnish)
- Margarita glass
- Cocktail shaker + strainer
- Ice
- Fine mesh strainer
- Optional: salt (for rim)
JALAPEÑO SIMPLE SYRUP DIRECTIONS*:
*This should be chilled in fridge for at least an hour before it’s used in cocktail. It can also be made the night before and stored in fridge, covered, for 2-3 days.
- Combine sliced jalapeño, sugar, and water in saucepan and place on stove over medium-high-high heat. Stir a couple of times.
- Arianna’s note: substitute Splenda for a healthier option.
- Simmer until sugar has dissolved completely, then remove from burner and turn off. Allow to cool.
- Note: if simple syrup seems thin and watery, add in a tiny bit more sugar; repeat if needed until mixture is thicker.
- Once cool, strain through fine mesh strainer into container or glass, cover, and store in fridge.
HOW-TO:
- Fill cocktail shaker up with ice. Add in tequila reposado, blood orange juice, fresh lime juice, and jalapeño simple syrup. Cover and shake well.
