May’s pick of the month is shining a light on the Fourth Ray Beauty rose face milk. Below I’m going to break down exactly what it is, what it does, why I’m obsessed, and how I use it. Why I’m loving it:

I’ve had this face milk for about a month and a half now, but it had been on my radar long before that. The thing that enticed me the most about this product was actually the name itself. “Face milk” sounded so soothing and nourishing, I couldn’t help but be intrigued.

I have normal-dry skin that is very sensitive, so I really have to take the time to research any makeup or skincare products I put on my face. The transitional period from winter to spring always leaves my skin feeling extra dry for some reason (you’d think it’d be during the winter itself, but nope!), and my regular moisturizer just wasn’t cutting it anymore, so I had to find something new. As I looked for moisturizers for dry, sensitive skin, this face milk kept popping up. With an affordable price-point and pink color (my favorite color is pink, in case you couldn’t tell from this entire blog), I knew I had to at least try it—and boy, am I so happy I did. Now, I’m obsessed.

My favorite thing about the Fourth Ray Beauty rose face milk is the fact that it’s safe for sensitive skin. It’s nice not having to worry about it causing any irritation. I also love the scent. It smells like fresh roses but the scent is very faint, it isn’t overpowering at all. I always feel happy and calm after I’ve applied this, which is unsurprising since roses are believed to be major mood-boosters.

This product really helps lock in moisture and keep my skin nourished and soothed all day. I also feel like it helps lock in my other skincare products, allowing them to penetrate deeper and work their magic better into my skin. Honestly, it lays flawlessly on top of my other skincare products, and creates the perfect base for makeup. The face milk isn’t sticky in the least bit, and leaves my skin looking dewy.

Application:

When I use it:

I use this every morning after my moisturizer, and also as a primer before makeup.

Tip: when using this as a primer, apply the product and start with eyeshaow application first. Not only will this make it easier to clean up and fix any mistakes in the eye area, this will also give the face milk time to sink in better. Doing this will allow for an even, flawless makeup application.

How-to:

Using the dropper, I plop 2-3 drops in my palm. I then rub my palms together and, taking both hands, gently press the product into my face, underneath my jawline, and neck.
