Affirmations To Promote Self-Love

As today marks the last day of January, a lot of the excitement from the start of a new year and decade has probably worn off completely by now. We’re now officially past the excitement phase and entering the dreaded, mid-winter slump. I personally have about three things to really exciting things that I’m looking forward to in February: my aunt’s birthday, getting my hair done (bye-bye, roots!), and Valentine’s Day.

When I think of February, I think of cold cold days with gray skies and early sunsets, but I also think of the colors pink and red. For some reason, I’ve always associated those two colors with this month—don’t ask me why, I don’t even know the reasoning myself, especially because of the fact that I’m not a color association type of person with anything else in my life. Regardless, those colors bring to mind one particular subject: love. So, I thought: what better way to kick off the month of February than with some self-love affirmations?!

An affirmation is a positive statement designed to manifest a specific goal. When we use them in the present tense and repeat them to ourselves or speak them aloud often, we give our thoughts greater power and can start to make positive changes in our lives. A manifestation is the action or fact of showing an abstract idea. (“What you think is what you manifest.”)

When we use positive affirmations, we nurture the positive thoughts and start to believe them—thus making the idea/ideas come true in our life. It’s really quite simple: change your mindset and you can change your life; or, as I mentioned above: what you think is what you manifest.

Take all of the self-love affirmations below or pick out the ones that resonate the most with you to manifest self-love and help invite romance into your life. After all, self-love is the fundamental building block that lays the groundwork for all love and future relationships.
