Happy April, everyone! It’s a new month, which means that it’s time for a brand new Flawless World beauty pick of the month. I knew in March that April was rapidly approaching and I’d need to find a new beauty pick soon, and I’m not going to lie: I was at a bit of a loss as to what that would be; I really don’t buy any makeup or skincare unless I actually need it, and a lot of the beauty products I currently do own I’ve been using and loving for a year or more now. They’ve become staples in my beauty routine, and I’ve made no new purchases recently.

As I was pondering what April’s beauty pick of the month should be, it suddenly hit me: the KKW Beauty Classic Shimmers blush palette. For some reason, to me, spring just screams blush. I feel like spring is all about fun colors—blush being one of them. What better way to kick off spring than with my favorite blushes at the moment? Keep on reading to find out exactly what this product is, why I’m loving it, and how I’m using it.

Why I’m loving it:

I feel like blush is one of the makeup products that really ties a look together. When blush is absent, I feel like the makeup looks flat; I personally believe that all faces look naked without it. I used to be afraid of blush, but as I started getting into and learning more about makeup, I realized just how important it really is for every time of year. Now, it’s one of my favorite makeup products, I love blush.

I was gifted a KKW Beauty gift card for my last birthday, and this was one of the purchases I made with it. In fact, I even did a full review on that entire KKW Beauty haul. At the time I reviewed this blush palette, I’d only been using it for about a month or so. Now, I’ve steadily been using it over the last 6+ months and it’s become a staple in my beauty routine. I love it for many reasons, but especially because of the fact that it has 3 different shades in it, making it a versatile blush palette wearable during any season and with any look. I’ve found that the versatility of this palette is one of the key things that makes it so great. Whatever look you’re going for, there’s a blush color you can use. Whatever time of year it is, there’s a blush color you can use. It’s a 3 in 1 palette. Not only that, it comes with a built-in mirror, making the palette perfect for on-the-go. The blushes themselves are actually a really good size too, and I look forward to using all 3 until the very bottom of the pan.

I learned that blush is typically the first makeup product to wear off, but these blushes have major staying power. After hours of wear I’ve found that they don’t fade, which is amazing. True to its description, the formula in this palette is very creamy, buttery, and soft. The formula of these blushes allows for perfect placement, and a little goes a long way, especially if you take the time to really blend it out. They’re also buildable, so you can work up to your desired amount.

Additionally, despite the fact that these are shimmery blushes, they’re not super sparkly. Instead, they give you a really nice, subtle glow and natural flush. The pearls in the formula have more of a gold finish to them, which I think works perfectly with these shades to create a beautiful reflection when worn. Another versatility aspect of these blushes is that because of the shimmer in them, they can also double as a highlight. I’ve been less into highlighting lately, and on the days I don’t wear any I’ve found that placing this blush a little higher on my cheekbones works wonderfully.

Application:

Blush application will vary from person to person based on their face shap , what they like, and what works best for them. Although the way I apply it is a generalized way to apply blush that works for everyone, the exact placement of blush may be different on me than someone else and so on and so forth. will be different on me than someone else. I recommend learning about your face shape and what works best for you if you’re new to applying blush, a lot of which can be done through practice and trial-and-error. Remember: there is no right or wrong way to do makeup; as long as you’re happy and feel good, that’s all that matters!

Top Row (from left to right): Step 2 & Step 3; Left Bottom Row: Step 4

How I use it:

  1. Tap brush into desired shade and tap off excess.
  2. Tilt your head slightly downward and smile slightly with your mouth closed.
  3. Stamp blush onto apples of cheeks and upward towards temples.
    1. Note: stamping the blush onto your face like this will allow for better, more accurate placement.
  4. Blend out blush with brush using circular motions, working from the apples of your cheeks and upwards.

Get the look:

As pictured below and in all pictures throughout this post, I’m wearing shade 1 (shimmering peach nectar); my favorite shade at the moment. I’m also not wearing highlighter. Instead, I’m using the blush to double as my highlighter. Use the application technique mentioned above to get the blush look and placement in this post.
