Beauty Pick of the Month: Kylie Skin Vanilla Milk Toner

Kylie Skin Vanilla Milk Toner

I’m not affiliated with Kylie Skin or any other brands mentioned in this post. All purchases were made with my own money, and all opinions are my own.

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of the Kardashian/Jenner clan. I genuinely like both KKW Beauty and Kylie Cosmetics, and KKW’s shapewear brand SKIMS is another thing I’m genuinely obsessed with. However, I try not to let personal bias or fandom sway my views or opinions on anything, which is why after nearly a year of using this toner I can confidently say that it really works, and I truly love it. This is why I’ve decided to make the Kylie Skin Vanilla Milk Toner my beauty pick of the month for October.

Below I’m going to break down what the toner is, why I’m loving it, and how I use it.

What is it?

Kylie Skin Vanilla Milk Toner:

[From the Kylie Skin website]: “Our gentle alcohol-free facial toner helps replenish the look and feel of your skin. It is formulated with avocado oil, kiwi seed oil and apple extract to help soothe, tone and restore natural hydration. This toner helps unclog, purify and minimize the appearance of pores.”

KEY INGREDIENTS:

  • Apple Fruit Extract – antioxidant that helps improve the look of skin
  • Squalane – highly refined moisturizing oil that’s derived from olives that help strengthen and restore the skin’s moisture barrier
  • Avocado Oil & Apricot Kernel Oil – emollients that help restore hydration, soothe, and soften skin
  • Sodium Hyaluronate – a derivative of hyaluronic acid, helps hydrate and plump skin
  • Jojoba Oil – helps condition skin, has a weightless feel
  • Alcohol Free
  • Lightly Fragranced

PRICE POINT: $22, 8 FL OZ/236 ML

Why I’m loving it:

I purchased and received this toner last November (2019) for $22 (before tax) and am just now getting close to finishing the entire bottle—and that’s using it twice a day, in both the morning and at night! For nearly 12 months of use, with still more to go, I think $22 is an extremely reasonable price. Another reason why I’m obsessed with this toner and believe it’s lasted as long as it has is because of the bottle dispenser. Unlike the trendy toners that spray directly onto your face, this one is dispensed onto a cotton pad (or your fingers), and is then swept across the face. I’ve tried the spray toners, and I’m not a fan. I feel like this method of squeezing a tiny amount onto a cotton pad works so much better and wastes much less product. With the Kyle Skin Vanilla Milk Toner, a little truly goes a long way!

I’m not going to lie, before I purchased this product I was hesitant due to the fact that I have sensitive skin and it’s lightly fragranced. However, I wanted to try it out so badly, I basically said “screw it,” purchased it anyway, and hoped for the best. Luckily for me, it wasn’t a waste of money whatsoever. Despite the fact that the toner’s lightly fragranced, it doesn’t irritate my skin. The scent isn’t overpowering at all, either. In fact, the only time I can really smell it is when I bring the cotton pad up to my nose, and it’s a very mild, milky scent with a hint of vanilla mixed in there. There’s no unpleasant or strong scent left behind on my face when I’m done.

Another thing I love about this product is the fact that it leaves my skin feeling super hydrated and smooth. The milky texture of the toner really nourishes the skin, while also getting into and unclogging pores—especially the ones hidden around the nose! I’ve tried other toners that are alcohol free and have hydrating properties in them, and found that they aren’t nearly as hydrating as this one. Also, can we talk about the stunning bottle?! In case you couldn’t tell by this blog, I’m obsessed with the color pink. The pink bottle with the white lettering is adorable, and I love the way it looks next to my other skincare products.

How I use it:

I use this both morning and night after I’ve washed my face. I always apply this product while my face is damp—not soaking wet, but not dry, either—because I feel like it works better that way for my skin. I dispense the smallest amount onto a cotton pad (seriously, a little goes a long way!), and then I sweep it across both of my cheeks, the center of my chin and forehead, and the bridge of my nose. I do this because I like to distribute the product evenly on my face before I get to work. This was something I came up with on the fly one day as I was doing my skincare routine, and I feel like it’s what works best for me.

Next, I’ll begin on my right cheek by sweeping the cotton pad across in an upward motion across my skin. I then make sure to get into the area around my nostrils and the side of my nose by pressing the cotton pad with the product into my skin. I’ll then repeat this process on my left cheek before moving onto the bridge of my nose. After, I’ll press the cotton pad into the bridge of my nose first before sweeping it across, and up and down for good measure. Once that’s done, I press the product into both the center of my forehead and chin, before sweeping it across the rest of my face in the areas I haven’t done yet (like my forehead and jawline). Lastly, I take the cotton pad on my neck and sweep it in an upward motion to make sure any extra dirt and debris is gone. I then finish my skincare routine like normal, and I’m good to go!
