I Finally Tried KKW Beauty + Kylie Cosmetics | Here’s What I Thought
I am in no way affiliated with either KKW Beauty or Kylie Cosmetics. All products were bought with my own money, and all opinions are my own.

As someone who’s beginning their makeup journey, one thing I’ve become really interested in is different types of lipstick, lip gloss, and lip liner. Personally, I’ve always been a lip gloss kind of girl, but I really wanted to expand my horizons after staying away from lipstick and lip liner all my teenage years and adult life (thanks, mom!). So, I figured, what better way to learn more than with products by the queen of lips and a beauty icon themselves? Below I review my new purchases from KKW Beauty and Kylie Cosmetics. The results may surprise you.

KKW BEAUTY

KKW BEAUTY NUDE CRÈME LIPSTICK

SHADE: NUDE 1: LIGHT PINKY NUDE

Out of all my new products, this was the the first one I tried. I’ll admit it: I fell in love. Instantly. The creamy formula glides on smoothly and feels hydrating on your lips. My lips get chapped a lot, and I was really pleased it didn’t feel like this lipstick was drying them out. The color is gorgeous, too. With my skin tone (medium with cool undertones), the color’s subtle and makes my lips look fuller, even without lip liner. This shade is perfect for anytime of year. It’s not as pinky as I’d originally pictured (going by the website’s pictures). There is, however, a very subtle tint of pink in the lipstick that’s very flattering. In my opinion, this is a stunning, creamy nude that’s perfect for any skin tone.

KKW BEAUTY PINK CRÈME LIPSTICK

SHADE: PINK 1: SOFT PEACHY PINK

Much like the nude lipstick mentioned above, this one is made with the same creamy, hydrating formula. True to it’s description, it really does look like a soft peachy pink. When I first put it on, it was a little lighter than I thought it’d be, and being that it’s only the beginning of spring and my skin is more pale, I feel like it washed out my complexion and features. This shade would definitely look good with a tan or darker skin tones. I did learn something from this purchase, though! I learned that during the wintertime, I have to stick with cooler mid-toned or cool blue-toned pinks. Still, I’ll definitely be rocking this peachy pink in the summer when my skin is bronzed!

The lipsticks do leave stains on glasses, but I did wear both out one night for 5+ hours, and I didn’t need to reapply once. I was really impressed with both of these lipsticks and the fact that the color lasted so long. I accidentally fell asleep overnight with the pink one on, and only when I woke up the next morning had it finally faded.

KKW BEAUTY NUDE CRÈME LIP LINER

SHADE: NUDE 1: LIGHT TRUE NUDE

Similar to the crème formula of the lipsticks, the liners glide on equally as easily. As someone who’s a complete lip liner beginner, the silky smooth liner made application easy and simple for me. I went out for dinner and drinks in this liner, and it stayed on all night long. It’s a bit darker than I’d imagined, but it provides a striking contrast between the liner and lipstick.

KKW BEAUTY PINK CRÈME LIP LINER

SHADE: PINK 1: LIGHT PINK

This creamy pink is perfect for adding dimension to any shade of pink lipstick! It’s a gorgeous, deep, light pink dark enough to outline and shape your lips to perfection! I was really impressed with this creamy formula and color.

Both colors didn’t smudge on me once, and I was really happy with how long they both lasted despite the creamy formula. They’re also easy to take off with minimal makeup remover and warm water. It was nice not feeling like I was scrubbing my skin off when I had to remove it.

KKW BEAUTY ULTRALIGHT BEAMS GLOSS

SHADE: IRIDESCENT: SHIMMERING OPALESCENT PEARL

I’ve always been into lip gloss, and I just couldn’t resist trying one from KKW Beauty (might as well, right? I mean, I was already placing an order!) This gloss can be worn alone or over lipstick. I tried mine alone. The shade description (shimmering opalescent pearl) was spot on, and I loved the way my lips would sparkle whenever they caught light. There’s definitely a blue-ish tint to the gloss, though, so beware! In addition, the gloss is super lightweight and easy to apply, I didn’t feel like I was wearing anything on my lips!

I really liked the gloss. I applied a few coats to build it up. My lips were so glittery! The formula is impeccable. There’s a bit of stickiness, but very little residue gets on glasses. If you’re going out, be sure to bring the gloss with you in case you have to re-apply after a couple hours or so.

KYLIE COSMETICS

KYLIE COSMETICS MATTE LIP KIT

SHADE: ONE WISH: DUSTY PINK NUDE

Not being familiar with matte lipsticks and matte formulas in general, I walked into this one totally blind. The first thing I noticed when I opened up the lipstick was the smell. I don’t really know how to describe it, but there’s a really sweet scent with it and it smells so good. I followed the instructions on the back of the kit and applied the liner first, followed by the liquid lipstick. It was really nice having a matching lipstick and liner. I messed up the liner at first, and had to go back and fix it a few times, and I noticed it went down a lot after that. I’m not sure if that happened because I held it wrong and tried applying it flat instead of at an angle, but that was the only disappointment I had in the liner. The lipstick went on smoothly and dried very quickly. I was happy with the color, too. I’d originally worried it would be unflattering, but it paired well with my complexion.

Both the liner and lipstick didn’t smudge on me the night I wore it. I’d been drinking wine and eating pizza. It didn’t stain any of my glasses either. I was also impressed with the coverage. One coat was all I needed.

KYLIE COSMETICS LIP LINER

SHADE: KOKO K: PALE PINK

This is the first lip liner I have ever used in all of my 23 years of life! I started with this one because the coloring was subtle enough to look natural, and I figured if I messed it up it wouldn’t be as bad that way. It went on easier than I expected my first time. I paired it with both the pink crème and nude crème lipstick from KKW Beauty, and I think it looked equally flattering both times. Although the shade is labeled as a pale pink, it reminds me of a pinky flesh tone. If you want a liner that’s bold and will stand out against your lipstick, then this isn’t the liner for you. If you’re new to this like me, however, then this shade is perfect for beginners because it’s so subtle.

This shade is extremely versatile. It can be paired with almost any color, and is subtle enough to the point where you barely notice it when it’s on, yet at the same time, it’s also dark enough to add dimension to your lips. Out of all the lip liners I’ve purchased from this makeup haul, this one has been my favorite so far.

KYLIE COSMETICS KYLIGHTER

SHADE: PRINCESS PLEASE: ICY PALE PINK

I’ve mentioned before that highlighter is my absolute favorite beauty product ATM, and I’m always looking for different shades. I was really excited about this color when I ordered it, and even more so after I opened it and swatched it on my index finger. Unfortunately, that changed when I put it on. Unless you have fair skin, this color won’t stand out. All it did was blend in with my skin, which surprised me, because I’ve used pink and white highlighter before and have gotten an amazing, blinding glow from it. On top of that, the powder isn’t pigmented very well, and I had to apply it like a madwoman 20 times in order to get a noticeable glow. I was disappointed in this.

I will say, the case it comes in is absolutely stunning. I love the pink and the fact that it has a little mirror attached to it.

KYLIE COSMETICS HIGH GLOSS

SHADE: KLEAR: SHEER WITH A LIGHT PINK TINT

Oh. My. God. This gloss made me absolutely speechless! I’m trying to contain myself with all the exclamation points, but this is the best gloss I have ever used in my life. Period! It’s insanely glossy, and this particular color is jaw dropping, and doesn’t really need any build up! What I like most about this gloss, though, is the fact that it’s so moisturizing and hydrating for your lips. The formula contains shea butter. This high gloss can be worn alone, with lip liner, or over matte lipstick. Personally, I love it alone. I even had one of my friends try it, and she was really impressed with the product, too. Every time I put this on, I fall more in love with it.

For $18.00, I think you get your money’s worth. Although the gloss is a little sticky at first and can stain, the coverage and moisturzer make it all worth it. Also, can we talk about that bottle? Flawless!

Is it worth it?

Overall, yes, I would say it’s worth it. Makeup isn’t cheap to begin with, and I found the prices on both KKW Beauty and Kylie Cosmetics very reasonable. I’ve received many compliments when I’ve worn my new makeup out. The only thing I don’t think is worth the money is the Kylighter. Maybe in the future I’ll try a different shade, but for now, I’ll stick to the lip stuff.
