How Mixbook works:
Launched in 2006, Mixbook’s had a good amount of time to get its feet wet. But unlike most older apps, Mixbook has kept up with the competition. Case in point? Their latest app update. Thanks to the update, the app now has a powerful machine learning technology that can scan photo metadata and select, label, and group photos accordingly. After all, with an abundance of photos on our camera rolls, trying to find the right ones for your project can be time-consuming. But now, users can save time and energy when it comes to photo curation.
The app is also pretty straightforward—you simply sign up for free, find the category of what you want to create, and click on it. From there, you’ll have hundreds of different templates to choose from or use as a guide for creation. Or, you can start from scratch with a blank canvas. After you’ve completed your creation, you then choose how many you’d like to buy and fill out your info accordingly. Soon enough, you’ll have your creation IRL.
My thoughts:
First things first: Mixbook lives up to the hype. It is so easy to use, and I love the fact that it gives you so much creative freedom. The templates are great for inspiration and guidance, but you also have the ability to start from scratch or change things around accordingly. So nailing the vibe you’re going for is easy AF. It’s affordable too—you only have to pay for printing and shipping, which is a win in my book.
Mixbook has also come in clutch for my wedding planning. I was able to create save the dates with the glamorous vibe I’m going for. Plus, I was able to do it alongside my fiancé, and being to create our save the dates together was so special.
Also, many moons ago, I’d take pics strictly for social media. But that all changed in 2021 when I decided to snap photos of special moments to keep just for myself. Since then, though, my camera roll (and consequently Google Photos) has been overrun with pics. Now, thanks to Mixbook, I can create special photo books for events and time periods in my life easily; and I can keep them forever IRL.
